Fission Energy Limited (ASX Code FIS) is based in Perth, Western Australia. Fission is currently involved in the development of the Mt Thirsty cobalt-nickel-manganese oxide deposit and in nickel and uranium exploration.
Fission was spun out of Tasman Resources Ltd (ASX Code TAS) and listed
on the Australian Stock Exchange in June 2007 after raising $A6 million.
PROJECTS SUMMARY
Fission holds a 50% interest in the Mt Thirsty Cobalt-Nickel-Manganese oxide deposit located 20km NW of Norseman in Western Australia and also has the uranium exploration rights to Tasman’s portfolio of wholly owned exploration
properties on the Gawler Craton in South Australia. Fission also has an EL application targeting palaeochannel uranium in the Ponton Creek area in Western Australia.
Fission’s current focus is on the development of Mt Thirsty in Joint Venture with Barra Resources Ltd. The Mt Thirsty deposit has the potential to be the world's fourth largest cobalt producer.
The joint venturers are also exploring the Mt Thirsty tenements for nickel sulphides.
